Server 2003 wanting to format my USB stick every time plugged in!

Hi,
On my ML350 G4 when ever i plug in my HP USB stick in wont show up in my computer but it will come up in disc managment and it wants me to format it. Is there a way around this? if i do format it from the server next time i plug it in will it do it again? Also i have a SATA II HDD, every time i format will it want to format that too?
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,

Hi Nick,
That depends on a few thing, does your stick work in other computers? or do you get the same message?
If your SATA disk is connected to a SATA controller it a complete different situation, if it is in a USB housing problems with USB ports can cause both to give you a headacke.

If the stick does not work correct on another system you have to format it once again, format can get corrupted if you do not choose the "safely" remove hardware (the icon is next to the clock in systemtray)

I would just try to format it once and see what happends.

Have a nice day,

Hi,
Thanks for your help, When i went to format like you suggested i seen that there was a set drive letter option. I did that and now it works fine.

Thanks for your help!
