Strange problem with Terminal Server

Hello, the problem is that sometimes (the problem appears randomly)when you are using the Terminal Server to access de Server and you select close session the server hangs. Of course this is a major problem to us because whe use this resource(TS)a lot.As a final note the server is running a Windows Server 2003 with SP1.

Extrange really. Do you have anything on the event log? Have you tried using tsweb?
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: Strange problem with Terminal Server

What you mean by "server hangs"? Server unexpected shutdown? Any errors in event viewer?

Recently we have problem with STOP error when user log off win2003 sp1 TS. This hotfix solve the problem:

It's a HP Proliant ml 110 G2 with 1GB of RAM, one 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Processor and 2 80 GB. Hard drives.
This server also act's as a DNS server and a DC.

Re: Strange problem with Terminal Server

You might, at least for diagnostic purposes and for the time being while you sort this out, consider using TightVNC for remote administration...

I want to make sure I understand you correctly -- you are using TS for remote admin, not application serving/remote desktop purposes -- correct?

Re: Strange problem with Terminal Server

Yes, that's correct.
I'm using also the VNC. The thing is that sometimes more than one want's to access the server (I know that this should not happen but I'm just an employee) and with VNC it's not possible.
Any way thank's to the link above I learn that this is possible an error introduced with the SP1 for Win server 2003. So it seems that I have to wait to the release of SP2 to solve this problem.

Re: Strange problem with Terminal Server

The solution, to buy a HotFix or to wait until the release of the next SP for win server 2003

Re: Strange problem with Terminal Server

You shouldn't be able to have more than 1 concurrent user if you are just in TS admin mode. I'd bet your TS licensing server is goofed up.
