Umount and Mount Again NTFS VOLUME
Hi,
Please help
I Have a dl380G4, and it is a file server, this server is connect to a EVA3000.
The Operating system is windows 2003 Server.
The Question is:
Client has a new server with windows 2003 server that he wants to use it as file server.
If a unpresent the two LUN with HOME FOLDERS, and PUBLIC FOLDERS, from old one , and then present this LUN´S two new one, It´s all OK???
What about the SHARE´S and NTFS PERMISSION´s???
What happen to this??Share´s and permissions will be moved with LUN´s without problem??
Can someone helpme

Both Server´s the old one and the new one are just member´s of domain, they don´t have AD.

The data will be lost if you unpresent LUN from one NTFS file system to other.
You may to make the snapclones of this LUNs and mount theirs if you want to process it online.
Or you may use backup system.
Or you may use symply copy the consistent data to intermediate storage.
