uncompress a file compressed using compress.exe

I have a file that was compressed on WIndows 2003 using the resource kit utility compress.exe. How do I uncompress it?
The documentation says use expand.exe but there is no expand.exe in the resource kit.

Have you tried extract.exe instead?

But here's the expand.exe tool. you'll have to add the .exe extension.
