Using Norton Ghost to save Win2k3 on HP Proliant DL380 - DL385
Hallo,
I would like to use Norton Ghost to save HP Proliant DL380 and DL385 systems where Windows 2003 Standard Edition or Extended Edition is installed. Tipically the Windows systems are configured in RAID 1, and sometimes the systems are part of a MS cluster.
Then I have to restore this images on different Hardware, i.e. on IBM x335.
The questions are:
1. does Norton Ghost save Windows 2003 SE and EE? What version do I need to use?
2. does Norton Ghost permit driver injection in order to restore the image on different HW?
3. If yes, is the procedure documented? Can you send me, please?
Thanks a lot in advance, Angela

Re: Using Norton Ghost to save Win2k3 on HP Proliant DL380 - DL385
Hi Angela,
As far as I know, your Norton Ghost Image will not work on different hardware. Symantec has a utility call Symantec Executive Recovery that enables to perform that procedure. Anyway, it does have its resctrictions when it comes to domain controllers or Exchange servers.
check the following link
