Video Crash Proliant ML150G3

Just purchased a ML150G3 and the matrox video card is crashing when using the console. Remote access is fine. Also can only get 1024x768 16bit colours.

I have my servers on a switch and if I switch to another machine and come back the mouse is all over the shop.

The card is showing as a Matrox G200e (serverEngines) and driver version 5.93.6.7 is insalled.

Any ideas?

The driver looks correct.

Check that all drivers and firmware is up-to-date

Apart from that the G200 is a simple video card - most servers use similarly simple cards since it reduces the cost of a server and grahpics is generally only wanted for admin purposes.

If you want better compatibility and actually use the video card for graphics purposes, then go for a current Nvidia card of the GS variant (silent cooling). End of story.

It will also save you troubleshooting time.

Cheers,
