W2k3 printing problems - Users cannot print

We have a new Dell Server (Xeon) running Windows Server 2003 standard. We have a Laserjet 3330 connected via USB cable directly to the server. Installed the software and everything works Except - Users on the network cannot print. Administrators across the network can print, but users cannot. Interestingly enough, if you log onto the server as a user, you CAN print, just not across the network. Any takers on this one. It's been killing us for two days already.

By default all services are disabled on Windows until you run the server configuration wizard. You need to configure the "file and print server" role, so services will be enabled.

Also you should check the printer permissions, ensure that users has print permissions.

We have a similar problem. We use an XW-4300 workstation running windows 2003 standard edition, hosting a networked printer (HP LaserJet 5100tn), shared as HP5100TN. Now only the domain admin can print from anywhere within the domain but not the normal user (unless the domain users group is made a member of the local administrators group on this print server, any other options did not work). This is our temporary solution for the day while seeking help to solve it.

I think a problem is in permissions. Checj permissions for print queue. Also, check local security policy (or/and GPO linked to OU): User rights assignment -> Access this computer from the network
