W2K3 Terminal Services and T5500 thin client disconnect

Hi everyone,
We've just deployed Windows 2003 server terminal services with the HP/Compaq T5500 thin clients to about 12 of our users. The problem we're having is that intermittently some of those users terminals will "lock up" or freeze or go black. The user powers off the terminal and reconnects to the server and their session and continues to work normally. The most common thing is all the users seem to be doing is reading or creating email in Outlook 2003. There are no error messages in the event log. The Terminal services manager will show the session as "disconnected", then reconnect it after the user reboots their thin client.
We've checked the network and we're not seeing errors. The TS is on a 100MB switch and the clients are connected to 10MB hubs.
The thin clients have been flashed to the latest image, but we still have lock up issues.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thanks,
Mark

Does this happen when they leave the session idle?

Re: W2K3 Terminal Services and T5500 thin client disconnect

No, it happens intermittently at any time, while users are typing etc. I did get a resolution from a support call we placed on it. Apparently there is an issue with the .12 image for this thin client with the network driver. A new image is being produced with an updated driver but won't be available until October 5th. The new image should resolve this problem of intermittent lockups.

Thanks for the reply,
Mark

what you're discribing sounds a lot like a connection loss due to network instability or delays. make certain these terminals have a solid connection to the fabric. consider that you may be overloading a switch and causing lots of packet loss.
There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.
