Where to find the informations about subject? My coustomer want to order HP Proliant ML570 4P
6G RAM for CIFS service(before is SMB) and NFS service. He want to know How the throughput is. I have visited HP beachmark "http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/benchmarks/index.html". There isn't.

Re: Win2003 Server CIFS and NFS throughput
You probably won't find much out there on this...
Why? Well, performance depends on lots of factors, including server hardware (# of CPUs, memory, # and type of drives, RAID level, etc), client hardware (pretty much all the same stuff as for the server), and of course, your network (100 Mb or gigabit?, switch brand/model, utilization, etc).
Comparatively, Windows is a good CIFS server, when compared to other OSes running on the same hardware, but a poor NFS server.
Use Linux if you need good NFS performance, and OK CIFS performance.
If you need really great NFS performance, you're going to have to spend more money on a high-end solution.
I've seen a great variation in performance because of the above factors.
Good luck,
Vince

No matter where you go, there you are.

They have some specs on the DL380G4 Storage server. Ask your saleperson for them.
