Win2k and Win2k3

Can Win 2000 servers coexist with Win 2003 servers in the same network? Will Active Directory from each sedrver be able to work properly with this mix of OS's?

Make sure you do a forestprep and upgrade your DC's FIRST.

Re: Win2k and Win2k3

You have to run a forest prep and a domain prep on your Active Directory when you want to upgrade AD to Windows Server 2003.
If you run within a NT4 domain, a W2k or a W2k3 domain, servers running under W2k, NT4 and W2k3 can coexist whithout any problem.

Just be carefull regarding the domain mode (W2k native does not "accept" NT4 domain controllers, and W2k3 interim does not accept W2k domain controllers) and some security features such as the SMB signing which is not supported by W95 and some NT4 releases.
