Windows 2003 Server usin RIS
Is anyone using RIS for server deployment? I am trying it out to deploy 64bit OS's to Itanium boxes but I have run into a major stumbling block. Per M$ knowledge bases and instructions, you need to have DHCP "Rights" to manage DHCP. We do not have DHCP "Rights" and we do not use M$ DHCP services. We are using Lucent QIP for both DNS nad DHCP and we do NOT have rights into it. Is there a way to get RIS to work without "Authorizing DHCP"?
Thanks

Re: Windows 2003 Server usin RIS
Gene,
Sorry, I'm not absolutely sure but i think that's not possible, RIS needs DHCP and DNS, and you need to authorize RIS as a DHCP server in Active Directory because of the way the boot process works, if you have one off course.
regards,
hugo
