Windows don't display RAID-5 logical drive

After installation of Windows Server 2003 on HP ProLiant ML370 G4, Windows' Disk Management display my RAID-5 as "Unallocated Space", even though I created a logical drive there w. ADU, and ADU says it's OK.

I was hoping for a format option or something in ADU, but there's none, and I can't format the logical drive in Windows either, since according to Disk Management, there's no logical driver there.

Re: Windows don't display RAID-5 logical drive

Simon,
Go to computer management -> disk management, right click on your RAID-5 disk with unallocated space and select "create partition".
You will have option to assign drive letter, format disk and etc.

Re: Windows don't display RAID-5 logical drive

Oh, I see: Even though there is in fact a logical driver on the disk, Windows will display it as unallocated space and regard the logical drive created w. ADU as the whole disk. I didn't know that. Thank you. Everything's fine now.

No, you need to use only Disk Management from Windows
