Re: Windows server 2003 logon problem

Add the user back in again.

When you uninstall ADS(Yes unix geek tried that once), uers go away.

Re: Windows server 2003 logon problem

You said that you tried to logon by using a local account specifying

Log on to: MyDomainName

You should login to the computer name.

It seems that something failed when running dcpromo. You should verify DNS first.

And if you failed with all attempts you can reset administrator password using some utilites. For example:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Re: Windows server 2003 logon problem

Hello Oz,

if this is a domain controller there will be no computername in the logon window only the domain name. So the local administrator passowrd can not work.

Please reboot the maschine press F8 after post for windows boot menu an select active directory recovery mode.

In this mode you can login with the password that you specified during dcpromo.

Now have a look at error messages in system log and try to fix them or post them here. Or you try to reset the Domain Admin password first.

By the way, if you do not remember the password for recovery mode login, grab a boot cd with a password changer and change local administrator password.

Re: Windows server 2003 logon problem

first way i used:
i obtained system user pass with additional program. password is same my admin pass.

second way i used:
system manager used some program which bootable and not ask pass. private operation system open, then i changed pass. then restart the computer i write new pass. but it didnt work, couse dns had still alive.

third way i used:
i try f8 menu, system asked me administrator password, i wrote my pass. but it didnt work.

fourth way i used:
i try f8 menu, with active directory restore mode. and i write my pass. and enter the start the my system. but i could not action. when i click some where in manage server, message come "you cannot do this".
i try to uninstall active directory

fifty way i used:
i try to change registery in active directory restore mode. run-> regedit

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
\System
\Current Control Set
\Services
\NTDS
\Parameters

in parameters folder, i changed dns name (i cannot remember) winnt.

i mean, this way illegal for remove the active directory.

but i advise, you dont apply this :)

because the system cannot open .

and i installed my operation system.
then setting site.

and happy end. Sites is running now.

thanks all.
