x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

I d/l the latest HP win32 scripting utilities and find a psp7.4 driver pack inside it for use with winpe2005 (winpe2005psp740x86.exe). Does anyone know if there is a amd64 (or x64 bit) version of this, maybe something like
winpe2005psp740amd.exe? Or will this version work for both 32 and 64 bit of win pe 2005?

I know they work for both AMD and Intel for x32 bit version of Windows 2003, but will it work for x64 bit version of Windows 2003? We are using DL585 - AMD operton CPU.

SmartStart Scripting Toolkit have only Win32 version, but I think you can use it for windows x64 installation.
Did you try it and have problem?

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

Dominic,
we use windows 2003 x64 bit, but we don't use SmartStart scripting toolkit.
Unfortunaly you are probably right: SmartStart scripting toolkit doesn't work with x64 because WinPE still doesn't support x64
Just found this thread:

see Richard Mouser (HP worker) answer.
You can try to use "SmartStart Scripting Toolkit E-Mail Support" as well:

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

According to Microsoft, WinPE 2005 is 64 bit ready. HP Win32 ToolKit is not 64bit ready yet ;(. Can you tell me how you do your Windows 2003 x64 deployment? The main problem we ran into is when we hit of winnt32.exe (and I try every switches) from inside WinPE 2005, we keep getting out of memory error! Any feedback would be strongly appreicated

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

Dominic,
we install it from windows 2003 x64 bootable CD disk and after windows installation completed we install PSP for windows 2003 x64 edition.
But AFAIK from SmartStart 7.40 version you can install windows 2003 x64 by using SmartStart assisted installation.

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

You are correct on the x64 install failing from the WinPE2005 x86, it needs to be installed from WinPE2006 x64. Same will be true for the next version of WinPE (longhorn)

There will be a x64 version of the SSTK Windows version with the next release.

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

I have create a x64 bit WinPE 2005 bootable CD with WinPE 2005 Toolkit and Windows 2003 x64 CD. I understand (after talking with HP and the from the posting here) that SSTK is not x64 aware. However, the problem I am still having is that I can't even get winnt32.exe to work from within WinPE 2005 x64 environment.. I am keep getting an out of memory error. This server has 4.0 G of memory. I try both running winnt32 from the DVD (I copy the Windows 2003 x64 source onto the CD) and from the local drive (copy the OS source locally on C Drive - after I diskpart) Any suggestion will be strongly appreicated

Re: x64bit version of winpe2005psp740x86.exe

winpe2005psp740x86 contains 32-bit device drivers that won't load under a native x64 O/S such as WinPE x64.

There is currently no x64 flavor of the SSTK (win32 edition)

You can install x64 Windows with WinPE x64 (using Winnt32.exe from the x64 Windows CD, an x64 native image despite its name) but you will not be able to perform the preinstallation configurations (BIOS settings, Array config, ILO config...) under WinPE x64. You may do it however under Winpe(x86), from DOS or from Linux (with the respective editions of the SSTK)
