XP array CU question

When creating a LDEV during the install it asks you about the CU and LDEV number. Is the CU the location of the new ldev? Then what about the boxes?

Volumes are logically grouped together into Control Units (CU). This is not a physical grouping but a logical. Many customers use it for grouping ldevs of different size, the same raidgroup or by project. Its only important that there is a maximum of 256 ldevs per cu (xx:00-ff)
