I'm quite new on the SAN & Storage, and I'm getting familiar on managing a XP10000.
I used Command view to assign LUNs create LDEVs, and working with snapshot. The environment is already set up.
My question is : how could I check the Physical layout of the Storage? What console should I use to be able to see the the # of drives installed, how they are distributed, the Cache configuration so on and so forth... ??
Thanks

Solution
Well... there's a good question!!!
You're not supposed to worry about the physical layout, so it doesn't really report that.
;^)
However, we have tools to do that - ask your ASC to generate an "HTML from XPDT" for you. It'll have a nice web-page format drawing of the array. I have these generated for my XP customers with every hardware upgrade.
Any trouble getting to your ASC, just post back here with your array Serial Number and I'll send it to you. It takes only a few minutes to generate.
Regards,
Vince

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: XP10000 simple question
Thanks Vince,
To better understand the warranty limits:
- Is it the service free? How many time could I request the html file?
- There is no other way to be authonomous on tracking, checking my XP without crossing the warranty borders?
I have found an old XPDT and looking at it, comes natural one quick question about LUNs:
Analyzing the I/O performance of an already setup storage, I'm trying to find out if the LUNs are part of a single RAID or striped across multiple RAID sets.
In a XP 10000 RAID concatenation is the only way to achieve this goal(LUN distribution)? Is it possible to create Meta LUNs?
The bottom, as you already know, is is to find out how many spindles are associated to each LUN.
Thanks in advance,
