Announcing HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery – Get the preview

HPE GreenLake now offers a simple disaster recovery option that combines cloud-like functionality with a unified experience from edge to cloud. Preview the new single, scalable platform for DR.

Is your infrastructure hardware due for a refresh that could pose challenges for capital investment and time, as well as complexity with more tools to manage and disparate interfaces? Are you spending a lot of time managing the licensing andHPE Storage-GreenLake for DR-blog.jpg billing for your infrastructure, from networking to compute? You’re not alone. This is a common concern many customers share.  It leaves them feeling that adding disaster recovery (DR) infrastructure on top of that will add even more complexity.

Yet, in today’s business landscape, where threats such as ransomware and other disaster scenarios are escalating, it becomes clear that mitigating costly business disruptions and data loss means you must have a solid DR plan in place. Worse yet, maybe you’ve recently suffered a ransomware attack and subsequent data loss, and your current DR solution magnified the fact that your SLAs are poor, and that it took hours to recover your critical tier 1 applications. So how do you balance minimizing infrastructure complexity and cost while maximizing effectiveness of your DR solution?

Maybe you’ve thought about adopting a cloud solution that gives you the freedom to consume what you need to provision, protect, monitor, and replicate your workloads more efficiently, but you can’t fully move to the cloud.

Now there’s a better DR solution with a cloud-like, unified experience

There is a new cloud-like solution: a simpler option that provides cloud-like functionality, with a unified experience from edge to cloud. And you don’t have to deploy everything to the cloud to unlock its benefits. Introducing HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery — unlocking the fastest recovery experience in one simple platform — with unlimited scale. See it for yourself by signing up for the preview.

HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery is designed to eliminate complexity, remove rigid licensing or payment structures, and deliver industry leading RPOs and RTOs — unmatched by traditional on-premises, SaaS-based, or legacy backup solutions.

Whether you’re dealing with a ransomware attack, an outage, or a natural disaster, HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery recovers you to a state just seconds before a disruption occurred. Built in, always-on, continuous data protection delivers the granular, journal-based recovery that’s the gold standard in protection. You can start enjoying the peace of mind that comes with recovery times of minutes, not hours or days.

In addition, HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery reduces your infrastructure complexity rather than adding to it. With one single platform and API to manage everything from edge to cloud, it delivers a single experience to protect your workloads and reduce the need for disparate tools and their administrative drain. That means fewer interfaces, tools, and processes — just operational efficiency driven by one scalable platform.

How it works

Offering a cloud-like experience, HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery protects virtual machines (VMs) using continuous data protection (CDP), not nightly snapshots, to minimize data loss with recovery point objectives (RPOs) of seconds. Entire multi-VM application stacks are protected as a consistent whole and can be recovered together to the exact same point in time. And with orchestrated live failovers and non-disruptive DR tests, your recovery time objectives (RTOs) are measured in minutes to ensure as little downtime as possible. You enjoy a unified experience across your multi-site deployments to protect, recover, and easily move data and applications without risk.

To achieve these low RPOs and fast RTOs, start with just a few clicks to easily configure sites, groups, and VM protection. For each protected VM or group of VMs, every write to a protected VM disk is copied to the specified recovery site and stored in a journal for a user-defined history of 1 hour up to 30 days. Every checkpoint in that journal is separated by mere seconds to provide hyper-granular restore points.

You can then select a group of VMs and choose to execute DR operations, such as a test failover, live failovers, commit and rollback of failovers, and reverse protection between the sites. This gives you granular point-in-time recovery for entire applications, not just component parts.
