ESXi 4.1 Update 1 Installable on BL460c G7
I've been building our ESXi servers with ESXi 4.1 and then applying update 1 in a separate step. This worked fine, and I was able to apply the offline bundle afterward. I want to eliminate a step in this process, so I downloaded the 4.1 U1 package from VMWare and attempted to install it on the same blade model. The installation did not recognize the NICs in the blade. I tried a couple of different NIC driver bundles from HP, but the setup didn't recognize them. I eventually punted and installed the base 4.1 instead. This worked fine - the NICs were there and I was able to build the server and apply update 1 and the HP offline bundle afterward.
What NIC driver does ESXi 4.1 U1 expect to be able to use if the blade has the Flex10 ports carved up into multiple NICs? I can continue to do this as a 2 step process, but I'd rather not.

Re: ESXi 4.1 Update 1 Installable on BL460c G7
Hi,
The vmware ESXi image does not carry any OEM drivers any more instead download the ESXi image from HP site which is bundled with drivers and SHM
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPVM06
or for drivers check hardware compatibility which shows the drivers version required accordingly you can download from below url
hardware compatibility
