I have been using a graphics expansion blade gen 8 with my bl460c gen 8 with no issues. I then bought a multi gpu carrier card and now whenever it's plugged in to the expansion the OA fails to recognize it and instead triggers a critical error "Management Processor on Blade 2 appears unresponsive."
As far as I know the expansion doesn't even have a management process. I have the latest OA bios (4.96) so I don't think that's the issue. Is there a way to update the rom on the expansion blade?

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
The partner server has been updated to the latest ILO and BIOS.
iLO Firmware Version: 2.76 Oct 31 2020
System ROM: I31 05/24/2019
From what I've read, the ROM on the expansion blade is updated by the OA firmware as soon as it's seated. The OA firmware is also updated to the latest.
OA Bay 1 Active OK -- 4.96 Dec 09 2019 A1
The issue still persists.

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
Hello,
I would suggest you have a proper case be logged with HPE, and share the appropriate logs for further analysis.

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
As far as I know these items are no longer under warranty. I just go another MultiGPU carrier card and it has the same issue.
How do I log a case with HPE?
Here is the Onboard Admin System Log: https://gist.github.com/FallingSnow/e1b54ce539e9ff3ed6085a7a3b4f6cf5
Is there other logs that would contain more information about this?

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
Are MultiGPU carrier cards only supported in Gen 9 Graphics Expansion Blade and not Gen 8?

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
I've discovered an error message in the OA DEBUG LOG. The log is just filled with these messages.
Jan 29 10:35:33 OA: I2c read failed on slot 2, trying to read packet header
I can provide the whole SHOW ALL log if requested but prefer not to post it publicly.

Re: BL460c Gen 8 with Graphics Expansion Blade Error
The issue was a bad expansion blade. Guess the power supply had a fault.
