TDRP Server Consolidation

Critical applications reside on multiple HP models and versions of UX. For either passsive or active redundant systems what is the perferred platform to consolidate the servers; blade or superdome? The RTO and RPO is <24 hrs. If the fail-over is not feasible in either of those models does it make sense to merely replicate the servers 1:1? This solution rapidly consumes real DC estate and solves the solution with yesterdays technology.

Re: TDRP Server Consolidation

Hello Brian,

take into account that SuperDomes only run HP-UX 11i, and some (many?) applications do not run under that, yet, or are not supported (or cannot get patched, like ITO/VPO/OVO)...
That would leave you with systems running 11.0 and hence MC/ServiceGuard instead of "vPars", or simply substitute boxes (Ignite/UX?).

...yesterday's solution for yesterday's applications?
