5700 VLAN Interface Limitation
Hi All,
Does anyone know of a way "around" the 5700's 32 x VLAN interface limit?
Regards,
Pete

Re: 5700 VLAN Interface Limitation
It looks like that 32 is an hardcoded threshold value for the maximum number of Virtual Interfaces (VLANs) configurable per-port (Up to 4094 port-based VLANs can be defined per Switch)...at least this is what I can read on the latest HPE FlexNetwork 5700 Comware 7.1.045 Release 2422P01 Release Notes.
What happens if you try to configure the 33rd Tagged VLAN on a port (supposing you have more than, let's say, 32 static VLANs defined on the Switch)?

Re: 5700 VLAN Interface Limitation
When trying to create your 33rd VLAN interface, you get the error:
[SW-001]int vlan 3000
Can not create this interface.

Re: 5700 VLAN Interface Limitation
Is that behaviour/limit independent from assigned port's link type (Trunk or Hybrid port link types; not valid for an Access port link type) to the port to which VLANs are applied?
I would expect that a Trunk port's link type is able to carry more than 32 VLANs...but I could be wrong in expecting that.

Re: 5700 VLAN Interface Limitation
Yes, I believe that it is independent.
I have numerous (40+) VLANs configured on the 5700 in question, however only 32 of them can have a VLAN interface.
There is a 1024 route limit on the 5700, so the switch can learn addiional routes through a routing protocol or via a static route.
<SW-001>dis ip routing-table summary
Max ECMP: 8
Max Active Route: 1024
Remain Active Route: 892
