Connection between ProCurve 2810-24G and ProCurve 2610-24

I have a system with two switches ProCurve J9021A - 2810-24G and other seven peripherals switches ProCurve J9085A - 2610-24.

The peripherals are linked in the MiniGBic ports of the two main switches, but I have no network connection from the center to the peripherals.

Did someone find problems with this type of connection?

I have to say that the firmware on board is not the latest one, I'm going to update it on all of them but I will be granted to know that a new firmware can be the solution (the system is abroad and I'm going to travel there)

Tnx in advance

Luca

These are traditional ProCurve switches, and should really be in the E-Series section.

Things to check:

  • Only ProCurve SFP/optics are supported.
  • The SFP ports are dual personality - cannot have a network cable plugged in to the same numbered port.
  • Do you have any VLANs? Make sure the ports are in the same VLANs or you have trunking an routing sorted out properly.
