Multiple P800's High core usage.
Hi,
Got an interesting problem.
DL785 G6 4 Processor - 1xP400 and 6xP800 Cards in the Box.
All the P800's have a MSA60 fully loaded with dual domain controllers, and SAS disks
Problem. I am experiencing one core going 100% on disk read/write the core is random, and performance is not great either on average about 380Mbs, but as time goes on it gets slower and slower, this is effecting all the arrays. I have updated to the latest firmware and rebuilt the system from scratch (It's sitting as a default install) I've run a number of tests and rebuilt the arrays under differing offsets and cluster size however the problem still exists the O/S is Windows server 2008 Enterprise.
Thanks
J

Re: Multiple P800's High core usage.
Hello,
which process is affected? Have you checked the number of interrupts by using perfmon?
Regards,
Patrick

Re: Multiple P800's High core usage.
OK so at idle interrupt time is at maximum 0.065 and Interrupts per second is averaging 2,239.171 (Max of 10,332.332)
I start copying a single few hundred gig file.
Speed is 351MB/Second, the average Interrupt time is 0.036 max of 0.195
and the Interrupts per second is averaging 14,348.382 (Max of 75,611.739)
Cheers

Also when we look at resource monitor there does not seem to be a process sucking up the resourcing on that core
