Chaps,
Is there a different version of Java for Linux from that which we use on HP-UX, I am using 14.2.10 on HP-UX 11.11, on an RP3440. The linux would be the latest (no idea what version that would be as I am not using it yet) on an Egenera blade system.
In short is anyone using java 14.2.10 on Red Hat Linux?
Regards,
Jash

Shalom Jash,
Java 1.4.10 from sun does run on several of our RH Linux servers here. It works very well.
Almost every 1.4.x and 1.5.x java release is available for hpux at http://www.hp.com/go/java btw
Same thing goes for Linux at http://java.sun.com

Re: Java for Red Hat Linux
SEP,
Many thanks, just wanted re-assuring about it, I had assumed it would, but wanted to see if anybody was using it.
Cheers,
JASH

Re: Java for Red Hat Linux
the main difference is that the java for linux is released and made by SUN, while HP must develop java themself for HPUX (which is ofcourse based on the code they get from SUN).
