VA7410 Disks on Integrity

It has deinstalled several 36 GB FC Hard Disks from HP VA7410 SAN. Several part numbers.

Can I use this disk as internal (bootable) hard disk for several HP Integrity Servers (rx4640, rx2600, rx2620)?

Re: VA7410 Disks on Integrity

The disks are fibre channel, server disks are SCSI, so the answer is no.

Hope this helps!

Don't let the front look of the disks fool you. The interface in the back is totally different. The VA disks use fibre, the server disks use SCSI.

Re: VA7410 Disks on Integrity

hi,

no you cannot as they are Fibre not scsi as already stated.

but also, the VA's set the block size of the disks to 520 as opposed to the default 512, so would need changing before use in another system too
