Sending e-mail to name with a quote
Is there a way to send SMTP mail to joe.o'boy@ipaper.com?
OpenVMS 8.4/TCPIP 5.7 eco 4.
I've tried adding more quotes or even using smtp%"name" but nothing seems to work,

Re: Sending e-mail to name with an apostrophe
>to avoid confusion with a quotation mark, we often call that apostrophe an apostrophe.
Or with computer languages, a single quote vs double quote.

Re: Sending e-mail to name with an apostrophe
>Sloppy usage in any context is sloppy usage.
Not quite. The C/C++ Standards have defined it as a single quote and double quote.
In that context there is no such thing as quotation marks or apostrophes.
Similarly for the Posix shell, scummy C shell and other shells.
>The apostrophe in question here is used as an apostrophe
True.
