Printer Status Notifications
I am using the HP Universal Print Driver, version 61.91.13.1, on a Windows Server 2008 R2 print server to control about 70 HP printers of varying models. Since the day this server went into production, about 5 months ago, the "Printer Status Notifications" was enabled. (Which I think is default.) Today this feature just "magically" started working ... which was a big shock to our users. I went through the queues and disabled this feature, which stopped the popups, but I'm curious if anyone has any idea how this could have happened. Nothing was changed on the print server itself ... unless there is an automatic HP updater that I am unaware of. I checked the event logs and didn't see anything out of the ordinary and nothing has changed on the client computers. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Joe
