Expand disk space for Proliant DL380 Gen9

Hello.

I started to manage a running Proliant DL380 Gen9.

It has a Smart Array P440ar Controller with 6 x 600GB SAS 15K Small factor HD in RAID 5.

I need to add more storage (4TB) for file sharing. I don't need a very fast solution, and RAID1 would be ok.

What are my bests options?

If I add two 4TB drive in the two free slots in the existing cage, would it be possible to create a new array in RAID1 without breaking the existing configuration?

Thank you very much for your advice.

Hello,

You can use it by creating array B (RAID 1) or can expand the existing raid5 by add 2x600GB.

You can check the list of compatible SFF discs from the link below.
