Warning : the cache for smart array p440ar in Embedded slot has beeb disabled bicause the restore op

Bonjour à tous et à toutes,

j'ai le message suivant sur un server HP DL380 G9  au démarrage du serveur: Warning : the cache for smart array p440ar in Embedded slot has beeb disabled bicause the restore operation failed.

System Hearth me donne l'information suivante

-1797-Slot 0 Drive array -Write-Back Cache Backup previously Failed. Caching is disabled

Do you have the HPE Smart Storage Administrator CLI (as known as HPE SSACLI) utility already installed?

Avez-vous le HPE Smart Storage Administrator CLI (connu sous le nom de HPE SSACLI) déjà installé?

If so, then execute the ctrl slot=0 show detail command. What is its output?

Si c'est le cas, exécutez la commande ctrl slot=0 show detail. Quelle est sa sortie?

As example (sanitized) ctrl slot=1 show detail on my HPE ProLiant DL180 Gen9 with HPE Smart Array P440/4G with Battery reports (look at green rows):

Smart Storage Administrator CLI 2.65.7.0
Detecting Controllers...Done.
Type "help" for a list of supported commands.
Type "exit" to close the console.

=> ctrl slot=1 show detail

Note that in two days (25.04.2017) the release of HPE SPP 2017.04 is expected: new Firmware version 5.04 is provided (also) through this new SPP.

Read the HPE Customer Notice a00007847 about recommended HPE Smart Array Firmware update to latest 5.04 (it's quite important!).

Edit: also the HPE Customer Advisory c05302924 could be relevant to your case.

Hi,

Cache module embedded on this p440ar controller. Therefore replace P440ar controller card.

Kind Regards,
Erdogan.

It is already available as a separate Online flash update package, see here (it's for Microsoft Windows OS, but that is just an example).
