N40L - Update for Meltdown and Spectre Security Vulnerability
Hi all,
As you may all know, in the last days where discovered 2 big security flaws on CPUs named Meltdown and Spectre (https://spectreattack.com/)
I have a HP Microserver N40L and after search the HP support site I did not find any information about how and if HP will release any patch or update to the N40L in order to fix this security issues.
Does anyone has any news or information about how HP is handling this?
Note: I found 2 HP pages about this bit neither makes any mention to HP Microserver N40L

Re: N40L - Update for Meltdown and Spectre Security Vulnerability
This URL below contains an important updated statement that should be reviewed on this subject:
http://h22208.www2.hpe.com/eginfolib/securityalerts/SCAM/Side_Channel_Analysis_Method.html
However it seems that your HPE MIcroserver N40L is not on this list and as such might not be impaced. If you like to know for sure then please review by opening up a case with HPE support.
Best regards, Jeroen

Re: N40L - Update for Meltdown and Spectre Security Vulnerability
.Not a solution. This matter relates to a critical issue arising from component(s) used by this HP branded device. However, cannot submit a case without a live support agreement. Hence, I suspect that most of the many owners of this product are left in limbo. The respective component providers and the device manufacturers need to take proper responsibility. It is not satsfactory to abandon customers in this way..
