Re: Rebuild RAID if harddisk fails

Subash,

Just replace the drive with another if its a standard proliant ML/DL/BL - especially if its a SAS/SCSI system. What server is it?

If its a DL1xx series with Sata, it may be using OS RAID rather than hardware raid or not have hotswap drives which will require power down.

Re: Rebuild RAID if harddisk fails

Hi Rob

Its a ML 330 server with SCSI disk.

so i just switch of the server, remove the old harddisk and replace with new one and switch it on that's all ?

it will automatically rebuild the raid or i need to do any configuration after that.

If its hardware raid thats all, if software then you must run it and do what you need with the manual :)

Re: Rebuild RAID if harddisk fails

I have a Proliant ML150 and I think one of the drives is dead, I still have access to my windows but it keeps doing a bip ALARM noise all the time until I shut it down. So if I just replace the drive it will stop doing that noise?

Need help :s thanks a lot
