OpenSSH Installation

OpenSSH Installation

I have had trouble with OpenSSH not starting on a Windows 2003 server after it was changed to an Active Directory Domain Controller.
I uninstalled OpenSSH, then reinstalled it using cp004878.exe
During the installation it asks for Service Log on as User. I get stuck at this stage, no matter what account I use I get the error "The supplied password is not valid".
Previously the account was the local Administrator but there is no account named 'Administrator' in the Domain.

Re: OpenSSH Installation

Did you try the \Administrator as the username? Please give it a try.

Re: OpenSSH Installation

There is a document that explains this problem.

http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html

(Secure Shell (SSH) in HP Systems Insight Manager)

Here you can find how to install it and I have attached the workaround for running SSH on Server 2003.

Re: OpenSSH Installation

I can find no reference to the "Supplied Password is not valid" error when installing OpenSSH in the document links referenced above. Can someone be a little more specific about the resolution to this issue?
Thanks.

Re: OpenSSH Installation

This workaround discusses modifying the already existing OpenSSH service. What if the service is not installed? Will I be required to demote the domain controller, install the software, and then re-premote it? This seems fairly silly....
