Port changes to iLOs. Need to change anything in SIM?

Things seem to be working after changing ports on test iLO, but want to be certain.
Able to pull up data and show status, however we changed the following ports:

SSH, Telnet, WEB Server Non-SSL & SSL, Terminal Services, and Virtual Media ports.

Do I need to change anything CMS side to ensure proper communications?

Thanks,
Sean

Well wrt Insight Power Manager software you would need to configure the SSH port in Options->Insight Power Manager Options page to ensure smooth use for IPM.

SIM heavily uses http:///xmldata?item=all query which by default works on port 80 or you can change the global propery settings file under config and enter the new http port number.

Hope this works.

The excat file name is globalsettings.props under SIM/config folder. Look for HTTP port property.

Re: Port changes to iLOs. Need to change anything in SIM?

Thanks. Can I have more than one port listed? Since just a few iLOs in the DMZ will have these changes.

Let me know. Will try it out and assign some points when I am done.

Thanks,

Well, I do not see any HTTP port property witthin the globalsettings.props file.

Re: Port changes to iLOs. Need to change anything in SIM?

Hi Sean,
Just for information.
SIM/Blade Systems Manager uses http:///xmldata?item=all [Web Server Non-SSL port] with default 80 port number {that cannot be configured } and/or http:///xmldata?item=all [Web Server SSL port] with default 443 {Can be configured if changed in iLO from globalsettings.props [iLOSslPortNumber property] } to get its enclosing blade/enclosure/rack details.

If the WEB Server ports are changed most of the things would work {like Health status} the only thing that will not work is "fetching blade/enclosure/rack details" and hence you will not see this iLO getting associated with its server if present already and if server is not discovered then the logical server would not be created.

So association would work only with default http/https port numbers.
Hence for proper operation wrt blade/enclosure/rack you need to make sure that all the iLO web server ports ssl and non-ssl are 443 and 8080 respectively.

Thanks
Deepak

Re: Port changes to iLOs. Need to change anything in SIM?

Deepak,

Thanks for the extra information.
I will be testing one more today and see what happens.

What document did you find all of this information? Specifically editing the props file?

Thanks,
Sean
