capture configuration from SSSU

Hi All,

I just ran capture configuration command on EVA8k. I collect step1A.txt - rest of the text files were not created.

I did this to keep a copy of config and to document the EVA.

Q - At what frequency should capture config needs to be run? Does it impact data/EVA in any way?Does it affect performance?

Your words are eagerly sought

Re: capture configuration from SSSU

Hi,
the capture configuration command creates the SSSU scripts, that can be used to recreate the EVA configuration. It should not impacted the performance.

Perf Note for the CA:
CA DRs might not been included in the capture script, because they can cause overutilization of the ISL links bandwidth - They should be restored manually one by one.

Am sure it does not. Nonetheless, wanted a chorus on the same

Hi,
no, it only captures/saves/re-creates an array config

Re: capture configuration from SSSU

I recommend that an SSSU capture is run after every change (even after a CA failover, run it on all involved EVAs). Save the files in a folder with a timestamp (there are some samples here on ITRC) and you even have a bit of history.

A recent SSSU CAPTURE can serve as a reference, but you can create better documentation / overview:
