Re: samba & unix password sync

What does your samba use for user/password authentication? Does it use the UNIX server or does it bind to a windows server (AD or domain controller)?

Hello,

Yes, we use Unix Server and want Windows XP users to access mount points on Unix Server.

Re: samba & unix password sync

There is tons of information out there both in hp.com and samba.org. The new name for samba is CIFS server (or client) and the HP manual is on http://docs.hp.com/en/B8725-90053/B8725-90053.pdf
For the password sync-ing there is an option in the smb.conf file "unix password sync = Yes". Search on hp.com for "cifs server".
