HP ml110 G5 SAN server;SUA could not connect to mapping srv. RPC: program not registered
HP ML110G5 SAN server.
The DSF system works and virtual Folders are visual on the Domain. Users has access to the shared folders by connecting to the Fileserver (PDC) that has a DFS connection to the SAN Root target.
Backup is done by Symantec Veritas Backup exec v 11D. Also did install a Symantec backup Exec Remote Agent Utility (SBERA)
and the service is in Idle state and see the icon on the Deskbar. In SBERA Publishing Tab the PDC is entered. On the Fileserver (PDC) Veritas software program, the select option for client backup shows the domain with clients and also the SAN. But entering for the virtual shared folders is not allowed, also not with the right username and password.
Miscrosoft suggests troubleshoot Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Endpoint Mapper errors.
On the HP SAN server is see this event:
eventID 1013 about RPC: Couls not connect to Mapping Server at host localhost while connecting:RPC:Program not registered. Did find this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913001/ but unsuccessfull after reboot.
And this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839880/ and included missing DWORD value ncacn_nb_tcp in parameter:HKEY_L_M\software\microsoft\Rpc ClientProtocol. After reboot no connection to LAN was possible !
What to do now?
HP support will not give any solution, because it is software and MSoft advises to contact HP because it is OEM software...
Somebody knows better ideas?

Re: HP ml110 G5 SAN server;SUA could not connect to mapping srv. RPC: program not registered
I see the current System restore DVD is v6.7, so assuming you have this

For SUA there are a number of hotfixes available from Microsoft:
http://debian-interix.net/hotfixes/
Also there are Windows 2003 Post-SP2 hotfixes for NTFS.sys, Storport.sys, VSS, etc that you could look into.
KB 950903, 934848, 959608, 943669, 940307, 952145, 938666 (e.g. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950903 etc)
Separate hotfixes are allowed to be installed on WSS 2003 R2:

Cheers,
