Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Using Chrome I typically see "This webpage is not available"

I'm only replying to add the above string to this topic to increase the odds of other folks find this topic.

I searched for it, but did not find it.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

HI:

For what it's worth, this morning it took at least a dozen trys to login.  I am not exaggerating when I say "a dozen", either.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

I've had two cases where I can't get in at all using firefox 5.  But can get in with chrome.

I've even gone to HPSC and it shows I'm logged in and then jump to the EBC forum.  I get:

Problem loading page:  The connection was reset

Trying again gives:

502 Bad Gateway

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

A few refreshes gives previous Problem loading page.

This particular problem occurred days before this topic was posted, so it may not be the same?

Works for me now after serveral times of refresh and reload...

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Chrome 15.0.849.0 dev-m: either:

"This webpage is not available
The connection to h30499.www3.hp.com was interrupted."

...or:

"Bad Gateway

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server."

Couldn't sign in even once in the last week or so; yet was able to sign in just now.

In IE9:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Refreshing gets me to a sign-in page, and then I am in. With Chrome - pretty much never get to a sign-in page.

(Thanks for working on this.)

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Been trying to log in for a week now. Finally got on by going through the "change password" portal. Keep getting the "Bad Gateway" error message. Usiing IE 8.

Anyone know of a solution or is this the typical HP response of Let Them Eat Cake?

They claim it is fixed and I'm not having any more problems after last week.  In fact they took down their Latest News link to here.

If it is still failing for you, you may want to drop a PM to .

As of today: works in IE9 and Cr 13.0.782.218 m (stable).  Does not work in Cr 15.0.865.0 dev-m (developer) - my main browser: "Bad Gateway".

Broken link.  Says page not found.  I wish I could say I was surprised.

Finally got logged on today after trying again for a couple days and having "Bad Gateway" error popping up.

I use so many different message boards, forums, etc on the internet and it just amazes me that HP, known for their computer/programming/printing/ etc can't get a simple website to work properly.  It's the only one I ever have problems with on a consistent basis.  Not good for their reputation.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Appears that Chrome 13.0.782.218 m is fully stable. This appears to be the most current released Chrome version. I do not believe that beta and developer versions can be supported at this time.

Please note, "Page not found" and "Page cannot be displayed" are two different error traps. "Page not found" would be 404, while "Page cannot be displayed" is more likely 500.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Chrome13.0.782.218 fails with Bad Gateway.  IE9 was failing with Bad Gateway yesterday, I was able to log in just now. I am able to log in with Firefox 7.0 beta.

This has been a problem for me in the last week or so at least.

I just tried it and had no problems.  In fact, I used chrome when I couldn't get firefox to work before.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

There have been one or two days where chrome changed from rarely working with Error 324 to Bad Gateway and no chance to login.

At least for me this is fixed.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Well it's back again for firefox 6.0.1.  :-(

I had to flush my cache twice and open a new tab before I finally got in.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

I am still getting consistent "Bad Gateway" in IE9 (my default browser) and Chrome.  FF 7 beta is working but inconvenient.  I can log in fine to the HP consumer forums.

I really hope this gets addressed, the current situation discourages me from answering questions here.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Chrome users: could you please try logging in from an "incognito" window (Ctrl-Shift-N in Windows)?  In my main profile, "bad gateway".  In "incognito" - got right in. Are you able to log in? (Gimme me some kudos if so :))

Same with a different profile: logged in right away.

There is something specific to a local profile (cache, cookie, configuration - not sure) that causes the error.  That's not to say it's a user error - it's not, it's clearly HP problem since everything else works just fine, thank you.

Interesting - it does work for me in incognito mode on Chrome, it fails in normal mode.

Same result on IE9 - normal login fails, it works in InPrivate mode.

I think you are on to something here.

BTW, the same (?) passport login from the HP Consumer forums works fine on all my browsers without the incognito/InPrivate mode workaround.

Strange, I would have thought all Lithium forums would fail the same way?

And I thought I found that HPSC worked but EBC forum failed.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Finally was able to sign in today, after almost 10 days of trying.  Constantly getting "bad gateway" error message.  Finally got on using private browsing window on IE8 as suggested above.

It's too bad HP doesn't know about the problem with this board.

It looks like it did, earlier this year:

Well it's back again for firefox 6.0.2.  :-(

I gave up fooling with reloading and went off to use chrome.  After 5 or so minutes I came back to firefox and hit Sign In and it finally worked.

Re: Problem Logging In - "Page Can't Be Displayed" Error

Still can't sign on using IE8 without going to a private browsing window.

I suppose, like most HP tech help, the customer finally just gives up and goes away and then you can return to your video games.  What a sad, sad way for a once-great company to be run.
