Oracle duplex-backups
Hello all,
i'm having a San Environment with 2 Lto Librarys with each 8 Drives. This two Librarys are on several Levels in a Building.
Now, the Oracle Backup with Rman should backup the whole DB (duplex=2) to one Drive in Level1 and to the other Drive in Level2.
Now, what should i configure in the barlist, when drive 1 in Level1 is occupied? It's a must to have the same backup-set in every level in the building. If i set the parameter "load balancing" and there are 16 drives to use, it could be that one backup-set is going to Level1 and the other one also...
can anybody help me?
Kind regards
Stefan Huber

Re: Oracle duplex-backups
Hi Stefan.
Why not set a shell script for the backup ?
Configure a setup for backup on each drive on level 1.
In the script check drive 1 / level 1 busy then proceed to drive 2 / level 1 and so on.
In case drive is idle, run backup on this drive. If you run OmniBack, the check should be easy.
