The CRN 2023 Product of the Year awards were announced this month, and I am excited to share that HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery, has been awarded CRNโ€™s 2023 Product of the Year in the Data Protection, Management and Resiliency category.  It is always a risk setting off on a new path, but the rewards can be significant. In November 2021, we introduced HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery with a vision of simplifying data protection delivered as a SaaS (software as a service) solution with a cloud operation experience. Winning awards is a special recognition for HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery and receiving highest scores in the overall category and technology shows that, this resonates with our solution partners and provides value to their customers.

Discover more about HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery

HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery is designed to protect on-premises and cloud-native workloads across hybrid cloud. The service provides efficient and automated data protection. All capabilities are delivered as-a-service so there is no backup software or backup hardware to separately manage or maintain. The components that need to be run in the protected environment are service managed and installed. Cloud native technology means fast availability of new features through automatic and non-disruptive updates to the service. Data protection can be managed from anywhere โ€“ simplifying operations and consolidating management of data protection at multiple locations from a single cloud console.

This service incorporates proven HPE StoreOnce Catalyst technology which provides space efficient backups enabling HPE Greenlake for Backup and Recovery to deliver up to 8x better storage efficiency compared to alternate backup solutions. In addition to reduced network bandwidth costs, this significantly lowers backup storage costs compared to alternate protection solutions.  Integration with other services like HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition demonstrates the true value of cloud services delivered through the HPE GreenLake Cloud Platform. You can provision a fully protected VM (virtual machines) within HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition at creation and apply a protection policy which is set in HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery. Additionally, you can perform simple VM-level or file/folder-level granular restores from the same, unified cloud console.

Backup + disaster recovery = comprehensive data protection

Unplanned downtime due to natural disasters, ransomware or malware attacks, and outages are the biggest availability threats as critical applications continue to spread across edge to hybrid cloud environments. Customers, need to be able to easily deploy, manage, protect, and recover fast from disruptions, on a secure, globally accessible platform.

For a complete data protection solution, HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery complements your data backup strategy and addresses these challenges head-on by providing industry-leading disaster recovery (DR) built with proven Zerto technology on a global, SaaS platform. This allows you to radically reduce downtime and data loss through continuous data protection (CDP). You get RPOs (recovery point objectives) of just seconds, and RTOs (recovery time objectives) of a few minutes, while meeting stringent SLAs (Service Level Agreement), on a single cloud control plane.

By proactively implementing data backup and disaster recovery measures, you can protect yourself, your business, and your data from the unexpected.

Comprehensive enterprise data management

The HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform provides a cloud operational experience and data management solution for your enterprise. Store, manage, and protect all your data from the Data Services Cloud Console (DSCC) inside HPE GreenLake. You can use a single vendor for disaster recovery, backup, storage needs, and more. It simplifies procurement and reduces the complexity of managing multiple vendors, which will be necessary considering trends toward multi-cloud management adoption.

I am extremely excited about what is in store for HPE Storage in the coming months as we continue to innovate and elevate the standards of managing and protecting your data with HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery and HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery. Our vision moving forward is to unify and simplify the overall user experience allowing you to select the desired RPO/RTO settings and the right blend of disaster recovery/backup protection gets automatically configured and managed across on-prem, hybrid cloud environment. This complete data protection solution allows you to achieve your data protection and compliance objectives.
