Commvault and HPE: An award-winning partnership
Commvault was just named the 2019 HPE Technology Partner of the Year for Storage Solutions at the recent Global Partner Summit in Las Vegas. In this guest blog, Riccardo Di Blasio, Commvault's Chief Revenue Office, talks about the HPE and Commvault partnership.
Just like our customers, Commvault needs to be agile to quickly seize new opportunities, iterate and innovate our products, and always remain a few steps ahead of competitors. This is particularly true as we continue evolving to accommodate our customers’ unique needs, changing business models, and the way they want to buy and consume our technology.
Throughout my career, I have found that customers are better served through a broader ecosystem of partners. That is why we have been increasing our focus on partners to extend our reach globally. As a testament to this approach, we are proud to be named the 2019 Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Partner of the Year for Storage Solutions at HPE’s annual Global Partner Summit in Las Vegas. This award recognizes the tight integration of our data protection solutions across HPE’s storage and server portfolio, enabling our joint customers to be cloud-ready and to drive greater business value. While I could prattle on about Commvault’s innovation prowess, the most resounding way to think about this is through the eyes of two customers.
Case in point: HPE and Commvault customer stories
First, the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, one of Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities, needed to ensure the availability and accessibility of the critical data underpinning its research and learning experience. Today, we’re talking about approximately 6.5 petabytes of unstructured data growing by 40 to 50 terabytes a month. With Commvault, HPE and Microsoft Azure in place, the University eliminated or avoided £1 million of storage hardware costs and decreased its backup window from four weeks to 36 hours.
Second is Astra Daihatsu Motors, a leading Indonesian automotive manufacturer that produces 2,000 Daihatsu and Toyota vehicles a day. With this production schedule, one hour of downtime could cost the business $60,000 USD. Using Commvault Complete™ Backup & Recovery with HPE storage keeps the Indonesian auto manufacturer’s efficient assembly line running by reducing recovery time by 80%.
Without a doubt, Commvault, HPE and our entire partner ecosystem works daily to help customers grapple with tough IT challenges and advance their infrastructure modernization and data readiness initiatives across next generation applications and multi-cloud environments. More importantly, these partnerships provide customers the peace of mind that their data is protected, readily available and useable whenever and wherever it’s needed. For me, that is an award-winning partnership.
