Cost-effective backup options and expanded scale for HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure
HPE SimpliVity for hyperconverged infrastructure, now integrated with HPE StoreOnce Catalyst, simplifies management and helps you easily and cost-effectively scale your storage environment.
This week, HPE announced the availability of HPE SimpliVity features and options that make management simpler and help you scale your hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI). New configurations and features also bring productivity up and costs way down.
The news is particularly good for backup users in hybrid cloud environments. Although HPE SimpliVity includes built-in, high performance data protection features that are guaranteed, IT organizations that archive large amounts of data could benefit from additional secondary storage options, on or offsite.
This week’s announcement included the integration of HPE StoreOnce with Catalyst. IT administrators can now leverage HPE StoreOnce Systems as a high performance, lower cost backup target outside of the HPE SimpliVity federation.
SimpliVity currently has a range of capacities available, the platform is easily scalable, and users can control access. This week’s new announcement includes features that makes these aspects even bigger and better in terms of scalability, capacity, and access control:
- New expanded scale and improved manageability for large federations
- New configurations with higher capacity storage
- New hybrid configurations ideal for general purpose workloads
- New role-based access that makes both IT administrators and backup users more productive
For more details, please read the announcement.
