HPE Nimble Storage & 3PAR recognized by customers as a 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice

While I was enjoying a short vacation in Italy before Discover Madrid, Gartner announced the 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice 2018 for Solid-State Arrays and HPE was recognized for 3PAR StoreServ Storage and Nimble Storage All-Flash Arrays. This recognition is based on our customers submitting reviews about their experiences using these products and services as part of the Gartner Peer Insights program, one of the industry’s IT peer-review platforms.

There are currently 154 reviews* from HPE Storage customers - I wanted to share a few of the comments that I saw that jumped out at me. I'm using the customer's job title as a hyperlink to the full review. 

Nimble Storage

• Senior Storage Engineer:  The onboarding of the AF9000 has been the easiest implementation of any storage array I've ever used. In addition, it is the first storage product I've implemented that met all of its claims made during the pre-sales discussions.
• Manager, IT Infrastructure: Nimble is a rock-solid product, They are selling "hardware as a service" - it just works.
• System Administrator: I am very happy with this product. The initial setup and install of the hardware is simple, and "yes even a 12 year old could do it"!
• Head of Infrastructure: We implemented two HF40 (Hybrid Flash) arrays. I was worried at first as these boxes only have 21 spinning disks and getting cold data off the arrays could have been slow in theory. However I was told this was not going to be an issue. After implementation I was very surprised to see the massive throughput and I/O we achieved.Solution Architect: The purchasing of the array was very easy as HPE Nimble honored a quote received at the end of the previous year for pricing. Ordering and install was simple as well as integration in to our VMware and Veeam environments.

HPE 3PAR

• Manager, Infrastructure Technologies: The array was amazingly fast to rack, stack, configure, update and begin migrating data. This array reduced our average latency of our legacy by >96%, a core prerequisite and purchase criteria to serve our end users of our ERP. The announcement of the integration with the Nimble Analytics through the Nimble aquisition filled the only gap we identified in the selection criteria for this array.
• Storage Architect: I've found over the last 6 years using HPE 3PAR for our production SAP, SQL, VM and VDI environments, that it has been very stable with minimal outages. Also purchasing under the Flexible Capacity plan (OPEX vs. CAPEX) has proved to be a good choice to reduce capital expenditures. 
• CEO: Reliability and Performance - these are two of our three brand keywords so it's great to see them reinforced by 3PAR
• IT Infrastructure Head: Outstanding storage solution with many features. cost effective if ordered right. easy to manage and install with a very a simply training. great performance and and the yellow face looks good at your data center.
• Director of Consulting Services: We have signed a Greenlake Flex Capacity contract for storage (later on for backups as well). The Flex provides better agility and overprovisioning protection that is aligned to our business as a service provider. I like the service (Greenlake Flexible Capacity) because it simplifies the way we provision IT as a service provider, saving on time and capacity waste (by over provision).
