Introducing the new HPE B-series SN6750B enterprise FC switch
The industry’s most secure, highest density B-series Fibre Channel Switch platform for enabling autonomous SANs is here! Learn all about it. – By Rob Gee, Product Management, HPE Storage and Big Data
Meet the HPE Storage Networking SN6750B Fibre Channel switch. It’s designed to safeguard your SAN from sophisticated cyberattacks and make it resilient against operational disruptions.
Now available, the HPE SN6750B switch boasts industry-leading port density in a 2U fixed-port switch design. With up to 128 64Gb line rate ports, the SN6750B is a building block for modern SANs in dense rackmount environments, allowing your organization to connect more devices and build larger fabrics. Consistent with the Gen7 B-series products previously launched, the SN6750B helps organizations maximize the performance of today’s flash-based and NVMe storage.
Engineered to be self-healing self-learning, and self-optimizing
SN6750B Autonomous FC switches let the SAN to automatically mitigate risks of unplanned outages and downtime. The switch can gather and transform billions of telemetry data points from across the SAN in real time – then use that data to make intelligent decisions based on traffic prioritization. It also detects, mitigates, and resolves congestion to ensure nonstop, worry-free operation. Together, these automated actions take the guesswork out of SAN administration, free up admin time, ensure maximum reliability, and deliver the expected performance of critical applications and storage.
Peace of mind too
In a world where digital threats are increasing in both sophistication and frequency, it gives tremendous peace of mind to know the SN6750B switch is secure by design based on controlled access between servers and storage. Combined with new, integrated security features that validate the switch’s operating system, hardware, and security settings, you can be confident that the integrity of the SAN is protected.
“Fibre Channel is inherently secure based on its point-to-point architecture that minimizes the impact of a compromised server or network attack. Gen7 Fibre Channel enables the highest levels of security, reliability, and performance for enterprises that are looking to modernize their storage networks.” – Eric Burgener, Research Vice President, Infrastructure Systems, Platforms and Technologies Group, IDC
Now’s the time to consider an upgrade
We know that businesses today face a variety of challenges ranging from combatting cybersecurity threats, to avoiding unplanned outages, to reducing costly downtime – all while delivering fast, reliable access to critical data and applications. As business leaders around the world evaluate IT investments that provide security, reliability, performance, and scale, the new HPE B-Series SN6750B Switch from HPE is set to deliver.
Why wait? Now's the time to start reducing risk by upgrading legacy FC SAN infrastructure with a secure, high-performing, scalable HPE SN6750B.
Meet Around the Storage Block blogger Rob Gee, Product Management, HPE Storage and Big Data Rob is the product manager for HPE B-series Fibre Channel switches focused on next-generation fibre channel products to support storage and compute connectivity.
