It’s time for next-level data management and security
HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen 11 servers with HPE Solutions with Cohesity
Unlock your data’s potential with HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL 320 Gen11 servers, now with HPE Solutions with Cohesity for enhanced data management and security. –By Alex Duarte, Complete Portfolio Go-to-Market and Marketing, HPE
How would you characterize today’s data management challenges in the simplest of terms? Two factors seem to clearly stand out: security and management of massive data sets.
It’s well understood that data is growing exponentially, forcing businesses to seek solutions that not only manage and protect, but also intelligently use data. What’s changed is the mind-boggling variety of data sources and the complexity of managing and securing this data.
What businesses need in data management solutions today is flexibility, security, and management efficiency at scale.
Building a solid infrastructure foundation: HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 servers
The HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 servers provide a great infrastructure foundation for these security and management challenges and offer an ideal balance of economic capacity and performance.
HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 handles a wide range of data storage-intensive workloads while optimizing performance, scalability, and security. It’s delivered in a 2U storage server form factor and built on 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® scalable CPUs. It features up to 6TB of DDR5 memory, supports Ethernet networking over PCIe (PCI Express) Gen5 bandwidth – as well as Fibre Channel – and uses the latest EDSFF NVMe flash storage technology. All of this is delivered with a cloud operating experience, including HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management as a standard feature.
HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 is well-suited for edge-centric and diverse rack environments, scaling from single-node configurations for remote office/branch office to PB-capable clusters. It’s designed as a 1U, 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® single-processor server, with single-socket performance.
To address modern security threats, these servers come with built-in security measures, including the HPE Silicon Root of Trust which safeguards against tampering during manufacturing. Support for HPE Integrated Lights Out 6 (iLO 6) extends the hardware root of trust from server firmware to now also protecting storage and network controller firmware. And the HPE Trusted Supply Chain ensures increased security standards when these servers are built in HPE-secured manufacturing facilities.
Embracing the ecosystem: partner solutions to complement the HPE portfolio
One of the key differentiators of the HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and the HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen 11 is the ability to support a wide variety of applications and workloads.
So, it’s not a huge surprise that many HPE partners are gravitating to these platforms with their software solutions. HPE Solutions with Cohesity, HPE Solutions with Qumulo, HPE Solutions with Scality and HPE Solutions with Weka demonstrate the way partners are working with HPE to complement HPE’s own strong suite of data protection and data management solutions.
HPE Solutions with Cohesity especially stand out in this regard; recently, Cohesity’s support for the HPE Alletra 4120 Storage Server and the HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen11 was introduced. HPE Solutions with Cohesity can be used to address:
- Converged data protection & security to replace legacy backup software and infrastructure
- Target storage without the need to change existing backup solutions
- Archival storage to replace legacy tape and cloud gateway solutions
Storage capacity (in TB) for HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL 320 Gen 11
When you combine HPE’s modern infrastructure and HPE Solutions with Cohesity, you’re able to improve security, simplicity, and scalability, making it easier to protect and manage your data. Key features include:
Zero Trust principles
HPE Solutions with Cohesity are built on Zero Trust principles to protect, detect, and recover from cyberattacks, leveraging HPE Silicon Root of Trust for digital fingerprinting and the HPE secure supply chain. If the worst happens, HPE Solutions with Cohesity offer fast recovery at scale, from verifiably good recovery points.
Cloud-consumption and operating experience
HPE Solutions with Cohesity provide a cloud-consumption and operating experience with HPE GreenLake for Cohesity and Cohesity Cloud Services, a portfolio of fully managed, cloud-native, as-a-service offerings. You can easily extend security and data protection options to Software as a Service (SaaS), cloud native, and on-premises workloads. And because Cohesity has native cloud integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, you’ll optimize your investment.
Simple and efficient platform
HPE Solutions with Cohesity help you “do more with your data” on a streamlined and high-performance platform. Cohesity unlimited and zero-cost snapshots can be instantly provisioned and used for test/dev, DR testing, and other applications. Cohesity global indexing, search, and analytics offer even deeper insights into your data.
What does this mean for data management and security?
With support for the HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 and HPE ProLiant DL320 Gen 11 servers, you can now safeguard your data with a solution combining HPE’s latest server and security innovations with Cohesity’s secure-by-design data management software. HPE Solutions with Cohesity guarantee a deep and new level of confidence in infrastructure, data management, and security.
