Simplify your object storage deployment with the Scality RING fast start bundle
Discover how deploying object storage in your business environment just got simpler, thanks to HPE and Scality.
Cricket world cup starts in less than three weeks. Here in India, cricket is the most popular sport. Everyone follows the sport during the world cup. Even if youโre not that interested, itโs impossible to avoid the activity that surrounds themโand this includes the Monday captain. This is when you go to any office water cooler or other gathering spot on a Monday during world cup season and everybody there seems to think that they can do a better job than any of the real players.
Data growth fueled by expansion of Big Data and IoT reminds me of these endless discussions. Everyone thinks they have the perfect plan to solve any this problem. When it comes to addressing data growth, however, the problem is that everyone is correct AND wrong at the same time!
Here are few simple questions: Is it tough to run your business-critical applications due to excessive growth? Are budget constraints prohibiting you to keep up with the growth? Are you working to ensure a cloud-ready IT strategy? Is agility a strategic goal?
Hereโs an idea: flexible, scalable, efficient object storage
Often I hear from customers about technology vendors focusing primarily on product or solution features and technologyโand pay very little attention to solving customer challenges. I always believe discussions with you, the customer, should focus on understanding the challenges you face and how our offerings can help solve these problems. That said, we at HPE and Scality strongly believe that we need to keep innovating to deliver compelling object storage solutions that address the ever-evolving challenges you face when managing your growing data volumes.
How HPE and Scality equal HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING
HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING is a software-defined storage (SDS) solution for petabyte-scale data storage. It creates scale-out storage systems that converge the storage of object-based and file-based data from multiple applications. HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING is architected to scale up to trillions of objects in a single namespace. The platformโs access and storage layers can be scaled independently to thousands of nodes, all of which can be accessed directly and concurrently with no added latency.
HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING provides multiple doorways for your applications. It supports file protocols and object APIs and can be deployed with OpenStack environments in one consolidated system. Also, choice of deployment topologies including single system in a single site, single system distributed across multiple sites, and multiple systems on multiple sites replicating one another. The combination of the Scality RING software, ultra-dense HPE Apollo 4200 Gen10 and HPE Apollo 4510 Gen10, along with advisory and support services, provide an object solution with the flexibility, resiliency, and performance required to drive down the cost of storage at petabyte-scale.
Over the past few years, HPE, along with Scality, has helped you reduce cost, lower risk and eliminate complexity while managing your data. Last month we launched the AI data node in partnership with Scality and WekaIO, and on May 6, we announced the Scality RING fast start bundle to make it easier to deploy the object storage solution in your environment.
Introducing Scality RING fast start bundle: Simplifying object storage for your business applications
Today, HPE Scalable Object with Scality RING is offered to you as a fully customizable solution. To make it easier and faster to order and deploy this solution, we are adding a bundle consisting of Apollo 4200 Gen10 Server and Scality RING software. The bundle is preconfigured with optimal processing power, memory capability, and solid state drives to meet the needs of most enterprise business applications. The only thing you will need configure is your preference for network speed, and your total desired capacity based on your business requirements. The bundles include all the software license entitlements along with the hardware making it easier and faster to deploy the HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING.
This new bundle solution fits the most common object storage use cases, for business applications that have been qualified with Scality Fast Track. The bundle can be used to deploy object stores of any size, starting at 240 TB usable storage on a single site and growing to multi PB across multiple sites. The bundle is delivered in an ultra-dense rack scale 2U platform (Apollo 4200 Gen10). The HPE Apollo 4200 Gen10 System is the most versatile density-optimized 2U platform from HPE providing maximum data storage capacity (in 2U), accelerated performance, and enhanced security for your data storage intensive applications. The support and installation for this bundle are purchased separately as per your requirement. Minimum one year support is required with the bundle solution. If you need additional support, you can add this in increments of one year.
Initially this bundle will be available in specific in specific countries, then rolled out to other countries in the next few months, so stay tuned.
Scality RING running on HPE Apollo 4000 hardware platform combines object storage software and industry -standard servers to provide low cost, reliable, and flexible centralized management that businesses need for large scale unstructured data. The HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING creates a solution with a lower TCO than traditional SAN and NAS storage vendors, while providing greater data protection for current and future large-scale storage needs
If you want more details, please contact your local HPE/Scality sales team and we will be happy to whiteboard an architecture tailored to your specific requirementsโso you can better see how the HPE Scalable Object Storage with Scality RING can become an integral part of your IT infrastructure.
