Hi Team,
As we know Alletra 5000/6000 uses Triple+ parity Raid, whitch tolerates three simultaneous drive failures.
Somwhere in technical documentation I found that it "Tolerates simultaneous failure of any 3 SSDs. Keep in mind that while the array can tolerate simultaneous failure of three SSDs in the same raidset without any data loss, the array shuts down when the third SSD fails to reduce the rare risk of data loss in the event that a fourth SSD fails before one of the three previously failed drives can be rebuilt"
Questions: Is this description correct for Alletra 5000 and HDDs (not SSDs)? What if 3 SSDs fail in 5000 that are used as cache?

Re: Alletra 5000/6000 Raid
Hi Gogalai,
Hope you are doing good.
For Alletra 5000 (Adaptive Flash) arrays, it is designed to be highly available, with redundant components. With Triple+ Parity RAID, an Adaptive
Flash array continues serving data with up to two independent HDD failures.
You can refer to the hardware guide (page 73): https://infosight.hpe.com/InfoSight/media/cms/active/public/pubs_Hardware_Guide_HPE_Alletra_5000__2120__Nimble_Storage_HFxx__ES3.pdf
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Alletra 5000/6000 Raid
Hi @NCG1
Thank you for your responce.
So What happens if three hard drives fail at the same time in the Alletra 5000?
will the storage shut down?
I couldn't find it in this document.

SolutionHi Gogalai,
Yes, the array shuts down if the third drive fails in Alletra 5000.
