Identify a Host Server in Rack When RDP'd in and Not Sure Which Host You Are In

Sometimes, when working in a lab that may or may not have effective labeling practices for physical servers, it becomes necessary to be 100% certain of which box one is RDP'd into.

If a server has an optical drive and the OS has an integrated eject feature, one can use it to cause the optical drive to open and help identify which server in the rack you have RDP'd into if the server doesn't have a locate feature and you aren't 100% certain which physical host you are in.

Just be careful that the server isn't the one just below the console and just below your belt line or you are in for a little surprise!

Good tip Kevin!
