SNMP Monitoring Hardware Status
Hello,
we have a Nimble Storage AF5000. Now i have configured the snmp calls with a monitoring solution. It works fine but i see only performance data and not a state of the hardware. Are there solutions as I could query the hardware state (more then a ping state).
Best regards, Matthew

Re: SNMP Monitoring Hardware Status
Matthew,
I use Centreon (Nagios fork) to monitor the hardware on our arrays. I wrote a REST API nagios check that allows you to check hardware.
I am not for sure what monitoring solution you are using but you could use PowerShell to query the hardware. The easiest way is to create a "read only" account on the array and use scripting.
Thanks.
Scott

Re: SNMP Monitoring Hardware Status
Hello Scott,
thank you for your answer.
We have prtg in use, there is now problem to user a powershell script or communicate direct with rest api.
Then i look forward and read the documentation from the rest api.
best regards
matthew

Re: SNMP Monitoring Hardware Status
Can i get a copy of that check? We run check-mk / Nagios here.
Cheers,
