Addition optical model for HPE Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A)

Hi ,

We are planning install HPE Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A)  in my network which has 2 optical port, but we need 6 optical port to replace the existing switch model.

Could you please adivise that Shall we add any addition optical model (4 fiber port should be there) in HPE Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A) ? If so, please suggest the compatible modle with name ? So i can order the same.

What switch are your trying to replace exactly?

We are trying to replace HP5406Rzl2 which has more optical ports, in that we are using 14 optical ports towards access switches.

We do have 2X HP 2920- 48 switch in the same cabinet which has 8 optical port free, So I can use this.

Since there is no need of routing switch in that place and need 18 ethernet connection  , we decided to buy HPE Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A) which has 2 optical ports. We still need 4 optical ports to replace the existing model.

That’s the reason I checking the additional optical model for HPE Aruba 2530-24 (J9782A).

There are both 24 and 48 ports model(s) within Aruba 2530 Switch series that will provide you 4 SFP ports instead of 2 SFP (Combo). See Aruba 2530 Switch Series datasheet.

Eventually...why not using a third HP/Aruba 2920 instead (considering you can create a stack of them three, if necessary)?
