ProCurve 2524 Switch
I have a ProCurve 2524 switch, and running TopTools 5.5 on Windows 2000 Server.
Every so often I get a dropped connection on a few ports. The connection will not reconnect unless I reset the switch. It is always the same four ports that drop.
Any Ideas? Thanks!

Re: ProCurve 2524 Switch
Check drivers for your nic on the server. If these are the latest i suggest a switch replacement. It has a lifetime first user waranty !

Re: ProCurve 2524 Switch
Hi,
1)do the errors follow cabling? Change the cabling of the 4ports in order to be sure that the problem is switch-based when the errors remain on the 4ports.
2)Check switch internal eventlogs
3)Are there specific switch settings on these ports like mac-security or stp?
3)Check Switch Firmware for newer version

Re: ProCurve 2524 Switch
Hello Carl,
New software was released for the switch on 11/1 - version F.02.13. That may or may not resolve your problem depending on the sw version your currently running.

Give that a try. If you continue to have problems, you might need to put a sniffer or analyzer on the network to capture what is going on.
Best regards,
Jamie Hughes
